Racing fans from all over the world waited for this moment: For the first time since 1998 MOMO-Megatron is represented at the most popular endurance race of the world. The team Race Performance around Michel Frey will be at the start in the colours of the company with a long-standing tradition, being quite confident to claim a top result.
“It is a great honour for our team, to represent such a traditional brand in Le Mans”, Michael Frey looks forwards to the 91st edition of the prestigious race in France. “The preparations took a good course for me and my team and we were able to prove our great potential already in the ELMS races so far this season. Furthermore our tests ahead of the 24 hours race were really promising.”
Frey shares the cockpit of the about 500 HP strong Oreca 03 Judd in the colours of MOMO-Megatron with the Frenchman Franck Mailleux and Jon Lancaster from Great Britain. The 40-year-old and his mates from the team Race Performance will be at the start in the fiercely contested LMP2 class. After the past results in the 2014 ELMS series Mailleux is full of pleasant anticipation and says: “I can hardly wait until the race is on its way. The 24 hours of Le Mans belongs to the best races in the world. At the official autograph session we had to sign even photos of the MOMO-Car of the 1998 race. That was pleasant feeling.” At this years edition of the traditional endurance race his team mate Jon Lancaster will celebrate his debut in the team Race Performance. The 25-year-old Briton reinforces the Swiss team around Michael Frey in the fight for a top result in Le Mans.
The start of the most famous endurance race of the world takes place on Saturday, June 14th, at 3:00 pm
