Each event weekend features two 50-minute races for drivers in the purpose-built Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo race car.

The 2017 season opens May 4-6 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, a familiar venue for the championship that is hosting the opener for the first time.

Teams and drivers then will compete in Rounds 3 and 4 on the traditional event weekend June 29-July 1 at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York, before heading to Road America for Rounds 5 and 6 on Aug. 4-6 in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

The second half of the season starts Aug. 25-27 with Rounds 7 and 8 at challenging VIRginia International Raceway in Danville, Virginia. Rounds 9 and 10 will take place Sept. 22-24 at Laguna Seca in picturesque Monterey, California, the final event of the season on North American soil.

Rounds 11 and 12 will take place Nov. 16-17 at the legendary Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, located just 45 miles (75 km) from Lamborghini global headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. Top drivers and teams from the North American series then will compete against their rivals from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and Asia championships in the World Final on Nov. 18-19 at Imola.

As part of a continuing partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Torque.TV), Lamborghini Super Trofeo races will be live-streamed on the following platforms: squadracorse.lamborghini.com, motortrendondemand.com and Internationally on imsa.tv and radiolemans.com. Tape-delayed coverage of each event will air on CBS Sports Network in primetime. The coverage will feature live commentary on both the broadcast and live streams.

The North American series continues to attract increasing numbers of competitors and interest.

The Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo adopts the V10 direct injection engine mounted on the road car, managed by a MoTeC control unit that delivers a maximum output of 620 horsepower. The frame is a hybrid carbon/aluminum construction with modified geometries to house an improved radiator up front and better accommodate the racing gearbox at the rear, which also provides better aerodynamics.
