Team Ratón Racing has confirmed its full-season participation to the 2017 International GT Open with a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 entrusted to Edoardo Liberati and Kang Ling, who already made a strong impression during the winter tests in Barcelona. Franco Sighinolfi will take care of the technical direction of the Roman team.
Ratón Racing, created in 2015 by Roberto Tanca and Marco Ubaldi, is associated with Lamborghini cars since its creation and takes its name from a legendary bull in Spanish bull fighting (“Ratón”, which means … mouse), who won three fights, surviving his fate.
The Huracán will be in the hands of two young guns: Italy’s Edoardo Liberati (24, from Rome) has switched successfully from F.3, winning the Lamborghini Supertrofeo in 2015 and the Asian LMS GT title in 2016. A similar switch is being done this year by Chinese driver Kang Ling (20, from Jiangsu), who has raced in F.4, F.3 and GP3, taking part also to the last two Euroformula events last year.
Team Manager Marco Ubaldi commented: “We are clearly very happy of both the drivers chosen, as Edo and Kang have been able to adapt very quickly to the car, and of the programme chosen: the GT Open is a top series and the level is going to be very competitive. We are ready!”
