This year, Kaspersky Motorsport has made the move up to the Pro category in the Blancpain Endurance Series, running a Ferrari 488 for a star line-up of Giancarlo Fisichella, James Calado and Marco Cioci.

However, Kaspersky Lab has not abandoned its grassroots racing programme and this weekend, it is running a Ferrari in the Amateur category of the GT Open Series. Racing at the fantastic Spa-Francorchamps track, the driver pairing of Alex Moiseev (Kaspersky Lab’s Chief Sales Officer) and experienced Italian Davide Rizzo, have just taken the AM class win in the first of two races this weekend.

Having qualified second fastest AM car on Friday, Moiseev was first behind the wheel this afternoon and soon inherited the class lead which the team never lost, even after pitting for the driver switch. A great return to amateur racing for Kaspersky Motorsport and tomorrow Alex and Davide get another chance to show what they can do at the legendary Belgian track in Race 2.

Alex Moiseev: “That is a fantastic result for the team! The start of a new season is always an exciting time. I haven’t raced since last year, so I was very much looking forward to it. It has been a productive day and we have gathered good data, which given the level of safety car risk here, will allow us to make informed decisions regarding risk versus reward if the opportunity arises during tomorrow’s second race. It was a satisfying start to my first race weekend of 2017! Congratulations to the Kaspersky Motorsport team and Kaspersky Lab for this victory!”

Davide Rizzo: “What a good race, I’m very happy! The team has done a fantastic job all weekend and I’m very glad about that – congratulations and thank you everyone! Spa is one of my favorite circuits. The track itself is just really cool, with elevation changes, fast flowing corners and a huge variety of corner types. It is really challenging but I like it a lot! I was looking forward to racing together with Alex. We already have a good relationship so I knew we would work well together to get a positive result for Kaspersky Motorsport and Kaspersky Lab.”
