FERRARI TRIO TOPS GT OPEN FREE PRACTICE AT PAUL RICARD

With warm weather and 28 cars on track, it was a lively day of free practice today at the Circuit Paul Ricard for the Friday ahead of the third round of the season. The Ferraris 488 proved to be in excellent form, as they took the top three positions with Andrea Caldarelli (SF Racing) posting the best time of the day (2.03.920) ahead of Marco Cioci (AF Corse) and Mikkel Mac (Spirit of Race), all within one second and all performed in the second session, which was much faster than the first one, which saw Thomas Jäger (Lechner Mercedes) on top of the timesheets

Augusto Farfus (Teo Martín BMW), who quite surprinsingly has never raced at the Ricard before, was the first non-Ferrari, preceding the excellent Ratón Racing Lambo of Edoardo Liberati, the other BMW of Rueda-Bouveng, the Balfe Motorsport McLaren of Rob Bell, the Jordan Racing Bentley of Michael Meadows and the first of the Lexus cars, the Emil Frey Racing of Frommenwiler-Costa.

In Am, the fastest car was the MS Racing Mercedes of Hrachowina-Konrad, again in perfect shape after the accident in Spa, who preceded di Kaspersky Ferrari of Davide Rizzo. The Austrian duo also topped the results in the session for Bronze drivers, which saw a contact between the Ferrari of Songyang and the Lambo of Galbiati, with no major consequences.
