MERCEDES-AMG DRIVER RAFFAELE MARCIELLO TO JOIN CRP RACING AT LIME ROCK PARK

The No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 will undergo a driver change this weekend at Lime Rock Park for rounds five and six of the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Championship. Mercedes AMG driver Raffaele Marciello will join full time driver Daniel Morad this weekend, replacing Fabian Schiller.

“I have followed Raffaele’s career in Europe for a while now,” said CRP Racing owner Nick Short. “When the opportunity presented itself to run him as a partner to Daniel in SprintX, I jumped at the chance. He is very fast, so he should complement Daniel very well.”

Raffaele “Lello” Marciello became an official Mercedes AMG driver in 2018, already achieving six podium finishes to date this season between the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the Blancpain Sprint Series, Blancpain Endurance Series, and the Blancpain GT Series Asia.

“I’m really happy to join the team,” said Marciello. “I will try to give my experience to them and try to help to score some podiums! I’m super motivated and big thanks to Mercedes AMG for the chance.”

Daniel Morad and CRP Racing both currently sit fifth in the Pirelli World Challenge GT SprintX Championship, a 60 minute race format to be shared by two drivers. With a second place finish at round one at Circuit of the Americas, and several top-five finishes to follow, CRP Racing will be a strong contender to fight for this weekend’s two available victories.

Rounds five and six of the Pirelli World Challenge will stream live on http://www.world-challenge.com Sunday, May 28 at 11:25AM and at 4:05PM Eastern.
