Joining the already announced Derek Pierce and Seb Morris will be their 2018 team-mate Rob Smith, who joined the team for the pre-season test at Paul Ricard. Together the three drivers secured two second-place finishes in the Pro Am Cup class last year, including at Monza.
With the power of the updated second-generation Bentley Continental GT3’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 for this season’s campaign, hopes are high for the team and drivers to push for further podiums during the year, which would make a fitting 100th anniversary for Bentley Motors.
Track action begins on Friday, April 12 when Derek and Rob will take to the 5.793km circuit for the Bronze test, before free practice and pre-qualifying a day later. The all-important qualifying session begins at 09:45 local / 08:45 BST on Sunday, April 14 with the three-hour endurance contest getting underway at 15:00 local / 14:00 BST that afternoon.
As ever, the official Blancpain GT Series website will carry both live video coverage as well as timing for fans to follow along, while the official Team Parker Racing social media channels will also be the place to go for up-to-date information throughout the weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to it. From the testing we’ve done so far, the car is brilliant. The car seems strong, the team seems strong, and it’s great to be doing another season with the three of us driving together.”
“I’m looking forward to it immensely. We have better tools for the job – we’ve got a brand-new car, it’s a lot quicker, and better on its tyres. It’s going to be good. We have a great camaraderie in the team, the guys are working harder than ever, and the car is quicker than it was last year.”
“We all get on well, which is the main thing. There is a great rapport between us three. Derek is very competitive as a Bronze driver and I think I am as well. We know Seb can be as quick as any pro, so I think we have a really good team going in to the season and with the new Bentley we have everything we need.”
