Alexander Moiseev and Alexey Nesov claimed their first Am class victory at the Red Bull Ring. In the third out of six International GT Open rounds, the Antonelli Motorsport pair continued their positive momentum, following three second consecutive places took at the Paul Ricard and in Race 1 at the Austrian track.
Moiseev and Nesov improved during the weekend, after they secured in the Kaspersky backed Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo car their third consecutive podium finish – included the third place of the Hungaroring – and the eight overall position in the last Saturday’s race.
In the second qualifying session held on Sunday, the young Nesov – who was born in 2003 and is at his maiden experience in GT – set the seventh quickest time and the first of the class. Eventually the Russian duo converted the pole position to victory and another P8 overall.
That let the Antonelli Motorsport racers to move up to second in drivers’ standings, only four points behind the current leaders Jens Liebhauser and Florian Scholze.
The next International GT Open round is scheduled on 26th/27th September at the home track at Monza. Meanwhile team Antonelli Motorsport returns to the Italian GT Endurance for the third round hosted this coming weekend at the Vallelunga track.
