Andrea Montermini is wearing again a racing suit and helmet for the Italian round of the 2021 Le Mans Cup. The event is underway at the Autodromo Nazionale in Monza as third round of the season.
The Italian former F1 driver is pairing with Swiss teammate Gino Forgione on the #61 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3. They have already completed the pre-race test on Thursday and the first free practice session on Friday morning, but Saturday, July 10 will be the key day.
Le Mans Cup qualifying session starts at 12:30hs Central European Time, while the two hour race starts at 17.00 CET. Full live streaming will be available on the official website www.lemanscup.com.
Montermini says: “It is certainly a great motivation to get back on track with this project, which we have planned with Forgione, AF Corse and several partners and which will see us as protagonists in this second part of the season but most of all in 2022. This race is mostly an important shakedown for us, so it’s crucial to do some good practice, and we’re succeeding in this, and then take the car to the finish line. All in preparation for the Le Mans Cup event to be held in the 24 Hours weekend at Le Mans next month”.
