Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Harry King produced one of the most dominant drives of the year to secure his third win of the 2021 campaign at Donington Park.

Harry, the current Porsche GB Junior driver, headed into the weekend looking to add to the win he secured at Silverstone and he was the class of the field in pre-event testing at the wheel of his Team Parker Racing-run car.

Going into qualifying, Harry then backed up that pace with a fine run to pole position, earning top spot on the grid by nearly two-tenths of a second.

From the front of the grid, Harry was hot favourite for success in the opening race and a solid start saw him hold the lead going into Redgate for the first time.

Nearly a second clear by the end of lap one, Harry eased away from the pack behind and set the fastest lap of the race en-route to a dominant victory by almost seven seconds.

Making up a place at the start of the reverse grid second race, Harry was running in fourth spot before being forced wide onto the grass by Lorcan Hanafin coming out of the final corner, dropping him back down to fifth.

Harry would battle his way ahead of Hanafin on lap eleven to reclaim fourth and held station to the finish, with the results from the weekend leaving him as one of four title contenders going into the Brands Hatch finale.

“Overall it’s been a positive weekend that started well with us being quickest in both practice sessions on Thursday,” he said. “We backed it up with pole position in qualifying and then the opening race went absolutely to plan; leading from start-to-finish and scoring fastest lap.

“With the reverse grid, it was a case of risk versus reward and I’d managed to get ahead of Dan [Cammish] and then there was contact at the chicane that dropped me back down to fifth again. I managed to close back in on the leading three but it was too late to fight for the podium.

“The championship fight is still alive going to Brands Hatch, and I’ll be giving my all to end the season with two strong results around the GP circuit.”
