PAUL MILLER RACING GOING ‘BACK TO CALI’ FOR LAGUNA SECA IMSA RACE

Following the team’s dominant victory in Long Beach, the Paul Miller Racing team returns to California with the all-new BMW M4 GT3 to chase down another IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship win.

Bryan Sellers—who won in Monterey in 2019 for Paul Miller Racing—and co-driver Madison Snow will look to ride the momentum from the Long Beach victory and extend their championship lead in the IMSA Sprint Cup, a championship-within-a-championship awarded to the team and drivers that collect the most points in races of two hours and 40-minutes or less.

In addition to the 2019 pole and win, the Paul Miller Racing team scored a pole position at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2017 in the hands of Snow, while Sellers and Snow combined forces to take second place at the team’s last visit to the track in 2021.

“Laguna Seca has been good to us in recent years,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.

“Really, California has been good to us! We won back-to-back at Long Beach last year and this year, and combined with our 2019 win-from-pole and 2021 podium at Laguna Seca; it’s becoming a great state for us to race in.

“It’s going to be different this year with the BMW M4 GT3, but the team had a very successful test earlier this month, and we should be in a good position for another excellent race on the West Coast.”

Madison Snow

“I’m looking forward to heading back to California with the Paul Miller Racing team. Being able to race anywhere with them is special because this team is really like a family, but being able to race at a historic track like Laguna Seca is even better. This is one of those tracks most people that are not into racing even know about or have heard of before, and it always makes it fun to tell your friends you’re going somewhere they know of! Getting back in the BMW will be great as well, as there’s still so much we are learning about and improving with it. I think we’re getting stronger and stronger as the season goes on. We were fortunate enough to test at Laguna a few weeks ago for the first time ever with PMR, and while the competition will be fiercely strong—as always—it definitely puts us on a better foot for starting the weekend.”

Bryan Sellers

“Momentum in our sport is incredibly important, it gets everyone pulling together as a team in the right direction, and we have that right now. The Long Beach win has really put us on a good path, but Long Beach is a lot different than the other tracks we go to, particularly Laguna Seca—what you need from the crew and the drivers and the cars doesn’t translate one-to-one. That being said, we’ve been really good at Laguna Seca in the past. The team has had a lot of success there in our last few visits to the track. I really think we have one of the best crews in the business in terms of calling strategy and executing pit stops, and making sure that we have a car underneath us that can win no matter what track we’re at. It will be tough, it always is in this series, but I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and hopefully fighting at the front.”
