WEATHERTECH RACING LEADING GTD PRO 18 HOURS INTO THE ROLEX 24

WeatherTech Racing is competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona and is currently leading in GTD Pro with six hours to go.

The No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Mercedes-Benz of Billings, Montana support continues its strong run at the World Center of Racing. Drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Jules Gounon (France), Daniel Juncadella (Spain), and Maro Engel (Germany) have driven a strong race with excellent pit work by the WeatherTech Racing/Proton Competition pit crew.

Gounon was at the wheel as the sun came up over Daytona Beach.

“I had a good stint into the morning,” Gounon said. “We are all about fuel saving and managing the gap to P2. We are still in the lead. We scored the endurance points at the 18-hour mark, so that is good. Fingers crossed for the rest of the six hours.”

Engel will close out the race for the WeatherTech Racing/Proton Competition team.
